Paul Ambrosius handles complex litigation and intellectual property matters for clients in the health care, securities, technology, and nonprofit sectors. His litigation practice includes federal and state court appeals as well as appeals from administrative agency decisions. He teaches appellate practice at Vanderbilt Law School, serves on the Executive Committee of the Tennessee Bar Association's Federal Practice Section, recently chaired the Appellate Practice Committee of the Nashville Bar Association, and is an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Bars of the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth, Eleventh, and Federal Circuits.
Mr. Ambrosius received his law degree from Columbia University in 1997, where he was a Human Rights Fellow and served as the Managing Editor of the Columbia Human Rights Law Review. He was a James Weber Linn Scholar at the University of Chicago, where he earned an A.B. in history in 1993 with general and departmental honors. He is fluent in French.
Mr. Ambrosius began his legal career with Winthrop Stimson Putnam & Roberts in New York City (now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP), concentrating on multidistrict and international litigation and arbitration.
Mr. Ambrosius has produced and given seminars on appeals and health privacy issues, and has advised national, state, and local political committees on campaign finance and election law.
