Anne Arney is a partner in the firm and has practiced securities and health law since 1982. Her practice includes advising and assisting clients in a variety of corporate transactions including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and private placements. In addition, Ms. Arney represents health care clients in business and regulatory matters. She has authored “HIPAA: What It Stands For and a Little More,” The Nashville Bar Journal (October 2002), “Letters of Intent in Buying and Selling a Business,” The Nashville Business Journal (Winter 1996), “Fraud Alert: Hospital Incentives to Physicians,” The Nashville Medical News (May 1993), and “Buying a Medical Practice,” The Nashville Medical News (November 1992). From 1987 to 1990, Ms. Arney served as Senior Corporate Counsel to EQUICOR, Inc., a health benefits company. In 1989, she received the Chairman's Award for outstanding service to EQUICOR.
Ms. Arney has been a guest speaker on healthcare and corporate law for industry and professional associations. She is past President of the Lawyers Association for Women and past President of the Boards of Directors of Outlook Nashville, Inc. and Altrusa International of Nashville. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Nashville Bar Association Pro Bono Program. She is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations, the American Health Lawyers Association, the Tennessee Academy of Hospital Lawyers and a Fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation. Ms. Arney graduated from Vanderbilt University (B.A., cum laude, 1979), and from Washington & Lee University School of Law (J.D., 1982).
